Illustration Friday - Layers

Here is my drawing for this week's Illustration Friday word layers. Raoul gave me the idea for it, but I have always had a soft spot for chickens. In fact, as a child I had a toy rooster and hen instead of a teddy bear!

Baby Otters

I was just looking at the very adorable baby otters swimming and thought I would show my otter art. This is a drawing from my Sketchbook Project. We saw some otters at the Georgia Aquarium last summer. I took some pictures of them and went back several times to peek at them. They are fun to watch!

Oreo is Feeling Great

We got word back from our vet yesterday that Oreo's test results are clear! We are so happy to hear this news. Yay for 100% healthy bun!

Illustration Friday - Sweater

This week's word for Illustration Friday is sweater. As you may know, I love sweaters, so I had to illustrate this topic. How many times has this happened? How many times have I shrunk a sweater?

Happy Valentine's Day and Happy Oreo Day

Today is Valentine's Day, so Happy Valentine's Day! As you may know, this is also our bunny Oreo's Day! We found her in Atlanta two years ago! Oreo just had her spay surgery last week, and we are hoping for a clean bill of health after some test results. We love you, Oreo!

Illustration Friday - Reverse

This week's word on Illustration Friday is reverse. It made me remember one of my favorite books by Beverly Cleary called The Mouse and the Motorcycle. I think I read this book when I was in fourth grade or so. I loved the idea of having a very small pet that could stay in your pocket all day, and it was also very cool that he rode a motorcycle, too. In the story, Ralph's motorcycle makes the sound VROOM VROOM to go forward, but to go reverse it makes the sound MROOV MROOV.

Year of the Rabbit

Here is our happy bunny Oreo! She is sleeping on her blankets and I have to sneak up on her to get these pictures. Oreo is a rabbit, and it is the Chinese year of the rabbit! My Chinese zodiac is Rabbit, so I am a bunny, too! Do you believe in the zodiac? I think I am a lot like the description. What is your zodiac sign?

This pair of bananas is called Banana Yes Banana No after a song I made from my band, which was also called Sugar Cookie.








Raoul and I are all about eating healthy this year! So far we are doing good. I love broccoli, pineapple, carrots, and tomatoes, so I made them into happy foods we love to eat. Oreo also likes pineapple, too.








I predict the hot trendy craft food du jour of 2011 will be s'mores! I made this button set of s'mores to be worn as a set. It is inspired by family camping trips when I was little. My brother Greg ate so many s'mores that it made him sick!




I think my Groundhog Day Button Set bears showing again, even though we just celebrated this holiday yesterday! Every time I say to Raoul that this is a "holiday" he laughs at me! Being a Pennsylvanian, this IS a holiday!


And last, but not least, here is my Jumping Squirrel Badge. This button for sure was inspired by Nilla's squirrel friend that comes to the window to visit!

Buttons From January

Here are my buttons for my 365 Buttons project I am making for 2011. Lots are in my Shoppe Sugar Cookie, too.








This is my Woodland Friends collection of forest animals. I had animals on my mind and wintery mood still and I imagined these animals having fun in the forest with each other.










These buttons feature dots and stripes. I like how each of the critters have opposite shirts and backgrounds. Tomorrow I will show more buttons from the end of January!
