Ghost Pizza for Halloween
This Halloween Raoul and I made ghost pizza that I saw on Pinterest. I did not follow the recipe, but I made the ghosts the same way. I do not have a ghost cookie cutter (I know, it seems like something I should have, really) so I just cut out my ghosts by hand. They came out really good because the cheese melted nicely in the oven!
So here is how the pizzas looked before they were baked in the oven.
I did use a mini cat cookie cutter on one - can you spot the cat?
Happy Halloween!

We Buy DIY: Community
A few weeks ago Raoul and I went to one of our favorite local shops, Community. Community is a super cool vintage and sustainable fashion boutique. I love looking at their reworked vintage clothing, local artisan jewelry, and vintage furniture. We went by to drop off some of my handmade Love Letter Envelope Lockets!
Community is above Jittery Joe's cafe in downtown Athens. I really like the view from up here, and the bright windows.
Here are some screen printed cards and mini pillows! They are really cute! I even got a birthday card to mail to my friend.
And there are my Loved Letter Envelope Lockets in the shop! If you are in Athens, you can come check out Community and the
Athens Fashion Collective Fall 2012 Showcase this Friday! You can also find my lockets in Shoppe Sugar Cookie on Etsy!

Clothes Horse Number Thirteen
Monday was a rainy day, so I wore my Keep rain boots, which I really love because they are really warm and keep my socks and feet really dry when it is puddly outside. Then I had on a cute printed handmade skirt I got in Los Angeles at the Renegade Craft Fair. It was at a booth that had lots of sewing patterns and promoted sewing classes in LA. I love it! I also had on a gray top that tied at the neck line, and I quite like that added touch. I also wore my beloved Prairie Underground hoodie, perfect for rainy days cos I can put the hood up!

Tunesday Tuesday - First Aid Kit Concert
A few weeks ago I got Raoul and I tickets to go see First Aid Kit in concert. I have to say, I was sad they were not playing again here in Athens, so we made the trek to Atlanta and were prepared to be exhausted the next day. We made our way into the theatre and heard First Aid Kit sound checking, waited more, then finally went inside after waiting in the lobby at the Buckhead Theatre. As soon as we were let in, we hurried to the front, as I am short and wanted a good view! I have to say, we had so much fun at this show, First Aid Kit are a real treat live. They are SO GOOD! SOOOOO GOOD. I have seen many bands over the years, but they were really one of my favorites for putting on a truly rockin', fun, and lovely set. Did I mention they are SOOO GOOD? They have such great voices, it is truly amazing to hear in person. Also, it was fun because the crowd were really excited to see them, and everyone in the room was kind and paid attention, and even sung along for Ghost Town and Emmylou. This show was so good, I can't wait to see First Aid Kit again!
Here are my First Aid Kit drawings, inspired by their song Wolf! I really think that is a good video. I love the images and that is one of my favorite songs from their new record.
Here are some of my photographs from the show. This one is from Klara singing with the opener band.

Midge from Modern Girl Blitz Blog
Please have a look at my pal Midge's blog called Modern Girl Blitz! Her blog is one of my new favorite blogs. I really like Midge's style, it reminds me very much of the movie Ghost World! Plus, she likes lots of the same things I do, such as Halloween, zines, and fashion!
These are pictures that she took wearing some of my handmade goodies that can all be found in Shoppe Sugar Cookie! I just love how the Tiny Record Player Wood Pin looks with the peter pan collar, don't you? I also love seeing my Strawberry Wood Hairpins in her hair! Such style!
And here are some of my many one inch pinback buttons that are in my shop, too. Did you know I offer over 100 button designs in Shoppe Sugar Cookie? Yes, it is true! Please have a look and then read Modern Girl Blitz, too!

Sketchbook Sunday - Fierce and Nerdy
Each month I draw a new comic called Dork Lifestyle for my friend Ernessa T. Cater's awesome and funny website, Fierce and Nerdy. This month I drew my Dork Lifestyle about some hot peppers. First I started with a pencil sketch that out lined what I wanted to draw and write in my panels to the cartoon.
Next I ink in my pencil drawings. Usually I draw in all the characters and then add the details with pens that are all different thicknesses. Sometimes I draw something to the side that I swap later - in this drawing it is the knife. I drew a new one on the side to replace in the final comic.
Then I scan in my inked artwork. I clean it up using Photoshop. I scan it in as a color image, then make it to grayscale to make sure my inked line work is crisp. I color it in and convert to RGB at this point. I keep a color palette saved that includes my favorite colors for my hair and skin tones for my comics, so they are always consistent.
I love naming my layers! Oh my, I am really a nerd. This is really important to me. You can search your files and find them by layers! I love this.
This is my almost completed Dork Lifestyle comic! You can see the final version right here!
