Visit Home
I forgot to post some of my pictures from our visit to my home state of Pennsylvania. We got to go out and about and visit some sights. Here are my pictures from the Society for Contemporary Craft in Pittsburgh.

Special Delivery Valentines
I was inspired by Etsy's Special Delivery, so I made some handmade Valentines special for them. I had a little bit of trouble getting started cos my day job consists of seasonal items (so we already did Valentine's Day for 2012!), but once I got going I completed four hand drawn Valentine's Day cards! Here they are...
How I loved Valentine's Day in grade school! We would make all sorts of things in art class, such as the above cat! I remember making it from cut paper hearts in Miss Napoleon's art class. I drew my own version for this Valentine!
Raoul said he really liked this one. I tried to use more colors than the usual red and pink. I love a little splash of color on my Valentines! I am getting these ready to send today. Did you make a Valentine yet?

Get Yr Groundhog
I made some buttons to celebrate one of my favorite holidays, Groundhog Day! I am not sure if this holiday is as big of a deal in Georgia as it is in my home state of Pennsylvania, but as a child we were always aware of what Punxsutawney Phil's had to say about the weather for the upcoming months.
You can celebrate right with your own set of Groundhog Day buttons from my Shoppe Sugar Cookie. So, would you like a late winter or an early spring?

Lickin' the Beaters Volume Two is Here!
My friend Siue Moffat wrote a new cookbook called Lickin' the Beaters 2 and it is out now. It is a vegan cookbook all about chocolate and candy. These are Siue's specialties, as she does the site Dairy Free Desserts and her candy business Boardwalk Chocolates. I helped with the illustrations, and so did another artist called Celso. I love how the new cover looks!
It is so nice to see the book finished and ready. This took a long time to complete. I really like the photos of all the different recipes on the cover. I especially like those candy canes!
Here is some of my artwork from Lickin' the Beaters. In the book Siue talks about sugar being a "devilish" food, or something people feel guilty about eating. On the other hand, sometimes it makes us happy and light, like an angel! Some sweets are even good for you, as Siue points out - like one of my favorites, dark chocolate!
It is fun cos I can draw me and Raoul into the book, too!
Here is the first pressing of the first Lickin' the Beaters cookbook!
I still love this mousse drawing!
And here is my old bio, with my old website listing. Check out these cookbooks and get cooking!

Zines and Sketchbook
So I mailed off my Sketchbook Project and sent it last week! I am excited to have finished it, and I have to say "whew!" to being completed with a project so early in 2011, even though I started it last October. This is the cover of my book.
And then the back cover, too. I also wanted to share that my zine is featured in this month's PikaPackage of zines! Check it out cos there is a give away of this awesome PikaPackage, and there are so many great artists in this collection.
