We had the best day with my family on their Easter visit this year. We got to visit Tanglewood Farm! It is a farm that you can visit that has miniature animals! MINIATURE ANIMALS! Can you imagine! As you can tell, I took lots of pictures on this day. I just love animals! We were greeted by this Howdy sign...


And then we made our way in.


Right away we were greeted by the adorable animals. I gave almost every animal there a hug, or at least the ones that would let me.




Love this little guy in a sweater!!!






My mom gave the lambs a hug, too! We really enjoyed these little guys. So soft and cute.

The mini alpacas looked like they were smiling.








This baby was hiding behind the mom and would hum each time I came around to give it a hug.










And here is a baby miniature Shetland pony!

My Weekend in Pictures - Lexington Edition

Raoul and I took a drive to Lexington, Georgia last weekend. We had a good time seeing the scenery of farms, sheep, goats, and fields. We also saw this funny painted sign!




There are lots of antique shops in the very small section that is the downtown area. We took some pics of the outside of the antique shops that were closed.








One shop had cute handmade items like soap, knit bunnies, yarn, tops, and these adorable knitted birds.






This old building was decked out with hearts! I think they were left over from February.






We had a fun day antique shopping, even though we did not buy anything!

Indie Craft Experience Holiday Wrap Up

This past weekend was Indie Craft Experience, and we sure had a great time! We had record breaking days for us, met so many lovely people, and had some great food, too.






Here are some pictures from our table display. We tried some new things with our set up and added a bunch of new items, some of which you can find in Shoppe Sugar Cookie on Etsy!






We met so many talented crafters and artists, two of my favorites were next door to us - the Long Thread and the Felt Jar. They had beautiful fabrics and felted friends.


In fact, Ellen from the Long Thread took home one of my bunny plush for her daughter. She even drew a picture of my bunny in her sketchbook! What a great drawing and it really is just like my rabbits!


Salvage is the vintage and vintage inspired section of ICE Atlanta. It was set up really cool inside! I really liked this part of ICE this year.


Not sure if I am totally ready for the holidays myself, but ICE was a great holiday market!

Book Fair

Over the weekend Raoul and I met our friend Marla and went to the Decatur Book Fair. Did you know that this is the largest independent book fair? We got there in the afternoon, just in time to see Dame Darcy speak about her new book called the Handbook for Hot Witches!


Conor McCreery, another graphic novelist, shared the stage with Dame Darcy at the Baptist Church where the talk was held.


I was really there to get my copy of Frightful Fairy Tales signed. There is an ebook version of Frightful Fairy Tales, so don't fear if you can't find the print version. The new ebook will have added tales! I have been a fan of Dame Darcy's art since he split 7" with the Coctails! I love her gothy graphic style.




We walked around the book fair and saw these neat banners printed and placed all around Decatur's downtown. They looked like giant block prints, some were even printed on bed sheets!






Later that day we went to see Leela Corman discuss her book called Unterzakhn. It was neat to hear her talk about her process and the scale she works in - she said the pages of her book were about 19 inches in width! She had a slide show of her art, sketches, and inspiration photos.
