What's Your Project? Tea Towel Embroidery
This year I have been trying to work on at least one project a month for myself. This month I have been doing some embroidery. My friend mailed me a Stitch Kit, which is great because it comes with everything you need to begin stitching. I did not use the provided patterns, so I just drew on my tea towel with a pencil.
I used back stitch and got the hang of it really fast. I embroidered before, but not in a long time.
I used the split stitch on the paws. It was a little tricky going around the curves of my illustration.
Then I added the features to my Nilla embroidery! I love the way the face looks.
Last I added some stars around Nilla for a little pop of color and the stars are fun to stitch!

Cheese Puff Plush
Here I am getting ready for the upcoming holiday handmade markets! I finished a dozen cheese puffs, which were a request from a friend of mine. They look really good, and were fun to make!
My one yard of fabric made 24 cheese puffs.
Even Nilla gave me a hand in cutting out my plush softies! She is so helpful.
Ta da! Here is a finished cheese puff plush. Aren't they so cute?

Baby Bunny Softie for Mavis
Our friends Jo and Andre had a baby girl last month. We were so happy for them! So I made their new little girl, baby Mavis, a little bunny made from wool felt. I really love how this baby bunny turned out.
I modified the squirrel pattern from this book and made it into a rabbit shape. I used Japanese linen cloth for the belly. The dots are really cute!
Wool felt is very nice to work with. Can't wait until Mavis is big enough to play with this softie!

Flossy on This is Love Forever
A big thank you to Kayte from This is Love Forever. She featured my Flossy Embroidery Floss Bobbins on her lovely blog. I have been a fan of her blog since I heard her interviewed on CraftSanity podcast.
Thanks again, Kayte! You can "adopt" your very own Flossy at my Shoppe Sugar Cookie on Etsy or my personal website, too.

Tissue Pals
I made some new Tissue Pals. They really come in handy when traveling. I use mine all the time! And I also keep one in the car, too. Some of my friends gave them to their children so they can put them in their school backpacks! You can find them at my Etsy, Shoppe Sugar Cookie.

Mini Choco
Yummy!
I love chocolate, so I sewed some of these Mini Choco candies. Raoul gave me the idea to make a special wrapper for the Mini Choco, so I made this cute little label. It is printed on speckled white paper.
All wrapped up neatly in a foil wrapper - this is one candy that won't melt in your pocket! Inside contains...
Some very cute candy! I made these from wool felt. I enjoy doing some hand sewing once in a while, and these little sweets are fun to make. I especially liked embroidering their faces.
I only made a few of these so far, and you can find them right here at Shoppe Sugar Cookie! You can give the gift of chocolate this Valentine's Day!

Material Girl
I ordered some fabric I designed from my Spoonflower Fabric Shop. Please have a look at my new designs!

The top photos are Biscuits and Bows in two different color ways.

Here is a Leaping Squirrel, some of my favorite cookies, French macarons, and Wonderful Whale fabrics.

This one is inspired by the teacup ride at Disneyland. It was one of my favorite rides.

Raoul said he really liked these rabbits the most.

What girl does not love ponies??

All of these are ready to order from Sugar Cookie on Spoonflower. Now, what should I sew with all my cute fabric?

What's Your Project? Sewing a New Top
My weekend project was something i have had on my to do list for a while. I sewed a new top! My mom is the best seamstress I know. She helped make this top last July, so I gave it a go this past weekend.

I used this pattern for my top. I also designed the fabric and had it printed through Spoonflower.

Here is a detail of the fabric. it is teeny tiny macarons i drew and made into a repeat pattern special for my fabric. The fabric is cotton knit, so it is a nice fabric for this pattern. I also love this shape top!

I am so proud I finally made a cute shirt! Raoul took these pictures of my process. It was a fairly easy pattern to follow, but since Mom helped me make it before, I just remembered what she did when she made it. The one thing I did differently was sewing the yoke interior by hand. The directions tell you to topstitch on the front yoke and catch the interior (lining) yoke with that. I just simply whip stitched the lining by hand cos I did not think I could top stitch so neatly. I like it better the way I made mine. I also hemmed the bottom and sleeves by hand, too. I am not sure, but my machine might be able to do a hem stitch, but I quite like sewing by hand, so that is what I did.

If you would like to make a top with this fabric, or any other project, you can order some through my Spoonflower fabric designs right here. Happy sewing!
