Etsy Talk

I did a talk for a local group called Athens Area Crafters Become Awesome Business People about how I run and promote my Etsy shop! I was honored and excited to tell them different ideas and tips that I have used to help by handmade business grow. It was great to meet everyone and talk about what they make and try for their Etsy shops. Thanks so much to Marsha for hooking up the event. We had a great time!

College Night Making Buttons at the High

Raoul and I got to be a part of the Frida and Diego event for College Night at the High Museum of Art. We had so much fun, here are some pictures I took that night. I did not get to take too many cos we were so busy making button badges with everyone that came to the museum that night!


We arrived early and set up our gear to make the buttons. We were making buttons inspired by Frida and Diego, and we had blank circles to make custom art buttons and also magazines and art books to use for button making, too.




We had markers, colored pencils, scissors...


And tons of one inch button making supplies! Our friend Shannon set up this event for us, and she told us to expect 2000 visitors to the museum that night!


Soon after seven o'clock, we had a line of students who made buttons! It was nonstop until 11:30! Raoul helped everyone press the button badges, then I helped them pit the pin back on. It was a fun process and everyone was happy with the buttons they created!






Here are some of the badges that were made that night. I especially liked the baby chick! That one is my favorite.


We had a great time making one inch pinback buttons at the High! In fact, we were so very busy that we did not get to see the exhibit, so we have to go back another time. I look forward to seeing the Frida and Diego art in person for sure!

Frida and Diego

We will be at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta on Saturday, February 23 for College Night event! We will be making buttons celebrating the art, life, and love of Frida and Diego, two of my favorite artists. It should be a fun night, so come and say hello and check out some amazing artwork. This is going to be a great night!

Holiday Time

We went to a holiday handmade market in the next town over from Athens. The sale was called a World Away. We thought we went too far into the woods, but then we found the right place. Plus, it was a prefect day for a walk in the woods - it wasn't too terribly cold, and it was cloudy, but not rainy. We were not sure what to expect...






There were banners, tables of vintage and handmade, cider, and homemade sweets at the ready. Everything was so enchanting, it made the day feel so special.
















We walked farther into the woods and looked at all the antiques set up in some of the sheds around the house.






I really lived this rabbit from the 1920's!












Then we were really excited to see the llamas on the farm near by. Look at these alpacas! They had about 20 alpacas on the farm. In the distance we also saw geese, donkey, and chickens.

Holly Day Handmade Market 2012

We had a great time at Last week's Holly Day Market at our favorite local shop, Treehouse! Here are some pics from that day.

My cheese puff plush were in their container! I think they looked really cute.

Lindsay made these great ponies! We saw kids playing with them all day.




I got some of these great ceramic charms from Julie at Subterranean.


And this is Michelle at Oceanity! Her stuff always looks so great. Of course I got a kitty scarf from her.


This is Laura of Grandiflora. I really liked her pillowcases - I had to have one. So I got the lavender one and it has constellations that glow in the dark.

What a great holiday market. I love Treehouse!
