Spring is Here

My parents were in town recently, and we had so much fun together. Here are some pics from their time here, and it is really starting to get nice outside, so it really feels like spring is here!


One of my all-time favorite foods is waffles! We had waffles at a little cafe called Sabine's. It is a small, quaint cafe just outside of Athens. My waffle had fresh strawberries and homemade whipped cream. It was great, and my dad had a German hot dog that he really liked!




This crochet cafe and cookies are really cute!

Antiquing Around Georgia

Raoul and I like to go thrift shopping, to the local flea market, and junk/ antique shops. There are some neat places around Athens that we have visited.


This place has so much stuff. It is crazy! We shopped and got some good deals.






I just love seeing all the different items all over and wondering about their "past lives" they had!


These kitties of course reminded us of Nilla!

My Weekend In Pictures - Slingshot Edition

Over the weekend we did some record shopping...




We went to Athens Slingshot, a new music and art event in Athens. It was really neat to walk around, see art installations, movement, and music all around town. I have been to stuff like this in my home town of Pittsburgh, so it was neat to see something like this happening in Athens.














We saw the Suzan play downtown, too. They were so good, and we danced so much. I recommend checking them out for sure!

Etsy Talk

I did a talk for a local group called Athens Area Crafters Become Awesome Business People about how I run and promote my Etsy shop! I was honored and excited to tell them different ideas and tips that I have used to help by handmade business grow. It was great to meet everyone and talk about what they make and try for their Etsy shops. Thanks so much to Marsha for hooking up the event. We had a great time!

Bear Hollow Visit

We love visiting Bear Hollow Park here in Athens. They have many animals in their zoo, trails, pond, and did I say animals?


We went earlier in January, when it was warm enough to not need a winter coat, so it was really nice.


Our first stop on the trail was the beavers! Beavers! They are the newest mammals added to the park. They are so cute! The whole time they were carrying leaves and twigs into their little pond.






Uh, is this leftover from Halloween or Christmas?




The bobcats are one of my favorites to see at Bear Hollow. Sometimes they are hard to find in their home, but this day they were out and about, grooming one another.




The bears were really active, too! This guy was chewing a branch.










I still think the opossum is cute!


And I think I am cute as an owl!

Flying Trapeze

My friend Allison and I are taking on trapeze lessons for this year! We are really excited to be doing this together. I took trapeze and silk aerials for 8 years, then I took a break. Allison wanted to get back into it, so we decided to start a class together.




Even though I have not been on the trapeze bar, I feel pretty good about remembering things. I do not feel as strong as I was before, but I am getting back onto the "swing" of things - haha.
