Autumn Pie Making

Pumpkin pie from Martha
We made this pie recipe last week for Thanksgiving. I really liked making this pie recipe, and it turned out really pretty, too. It is more like a cheesecake than a pumpkin pie.

Pine nuts on pie.
I liked that it used pine nuts in a pretty pattern on top.

Pie making.
Overall, it was fairly simple to make, so it went fast, too. I never made a pumpkin pie before!

Brekkie!
We enjoyed it so much we even had it for brekkie the next day!

Meet Me at the Library

Lonna and Katy at the library.
A while ago I got to give a talk at the Oconee County Library. My friend Lonna is the gal in charge of the Oconee County Library Teen Area, namely the section that houses zines! Lonna asked me and local band Werewolves to come to their launch party to give a talk on how I got started making zines and why they are still important today. I have to say, it was a great event and I had so much fun talking to everyone about zines and zine making! It was great.

Me, Lonna, and Katy giving a talk about how we got into zines.
Here I am with Lonna and Katy (Bottle Rocket Zine) giving our talk about zines. It was nice to have Katy there cos she is so into zines, and that is how I met Katy, too.

Making a collective zine at the library.
There was a room dedicated to making a page for a collaborative zine to remember the party that night. There were markers and paper for making pages.

Over 100 zines collected for the library!
This is the zines Lonna collected for the library! It does not seem like it, but there are close to 100 zines in this waterfall display! Lonna said they were donated from all over the world, and this zine library is the only one in the Athens area.

Indie Craft Experience Holiday Wrap Up

ICE Atlanta 0068
This past weekend was Indie Craft Experience, and we sure had a great time! We had record breaking days for us, met so many lovely people, and had some great food, too.

We met so many talented crafters and artists, two of my favorites were next door to us - the Long Thread and the Felt Jar. They had beautiful fabrics and felted friends.

In fact, Ellen from the Long Thread took home one of my bunny plush for her daughter. She even drew a picture of my bunny in her sketchbook! What a great drawing and it really is just like my rabbits!

ICE Atlanta 0084
Salvage is the vintage and vintage inspired section of ICE Atlanta. It was set up really cool inside! I really liked this part of ICE this year.

ICE Atlanta 0085
Not sure if I am totally ready for the holidays myself, but ICE was a great holiday market!

Cheese Puff Plush

Doodle time.
Here I am getting ready for the upcoming holiday handmade markets! I finished a dozen cheese puffs, which were a request from a friend of mine. They look really good, and were fun to make!

My Weekend in Pictures - Pink Cake Edition

Happy birthday dad!
Since Friday was my Dad's birthday, we celebrated with some chocolate cake with pink frosting! It had raspberries in the center, so that was nice.

Crafting weekend for me is a GO!
Later that day I had raspberry tea and was ready for a busy weekend of crafting! I am gearing up for the holiday markets coming up.

Oh Nilla.
My cat, Nilla helped me with my fabric.

This was the best te itade Hello Kitty toast!
I had some Hello Kitty toast. This was the best that I have ever seen Hello Kitty's face on my toast. I usually try and cram bagels or funny bread shapes into the toaster. It doesn't work as well as a regular bread-shaped bread does.

Now playing.
I love listening to records when I am crafting. This was on my turntable this weekend.

Our founder.
We also had some time to go downtown and hang out with a friend that came over from Atlanta. It was a nice break from sewing and doing computer work all weekend.

What what! Look what came in the mail!!
And these yummy treats came in the mail from Australia!
